The film recently premiered in Beijing, attracting a large crowd of film fans but also eliciting mixed reactions from the audience. One moviegoer remarked on China's major movie ticketing platform Maoyan that "if the first film was about the origin of this legendary villain, the second is merely a meaningless Broadway musical meltdown.”

In contrast, some viewers praised the film's visual elements, highlighting the cinematography and production design as key contributors to its aesthetic appeal.

On its opening day,“Joker: Folie à Deux”amassed over three million yuan ($421,500) in box office revenue on the Chinese mainland.

According to a report from Variety, the sequel has grossed $165 million worldwide in its first two weeks of release. By comparison, the first movie in the franchise grossed $248.4 million worldwide after just three days in theaters.
