Liu Shiwen and Lin Gaoyuan from Guangdong Province won the mixed doubles title at the All China Table Tennis Championships after defeating Zhao Zhaoyan and Sun Mingyang of Chongqing Municipality 15-13, 9-11, 8-11, 11-7, 12-10, 11-5 in the final in Ordos, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on Tuesday.
Liu and Gao saved game point in the opener and battled back to claim the frame, taking a 1-0 lead in the match. But Zhao and Sun quickly returned the favor, overcoming a four-point deficit in the second game to even up match, before taking the third game and moving in front 2-1.
Liu and Gao, both former world champions, brought the contest level again at 2-2 after claiming the fourth game. They then rallied at the end of the fifth game to regain the lead, 3-2. The duo didn't allow any their opponents any chance in the sixth, jumping out to a 6-1 lead and sealing the deal to secure the gold.
Huang Youzheng won the men's singles title for Beijing Municipality after sweeping aside individual participant Ao Hualei 11-9, 11-4, 12-10, 11-6 in the final. Huang held the advantage for most of the match, but Ao showed resilience in the third game and knotted the frame at 10-10 before being outlasted by Huang in the end.
In the women's singles final, Liu Weishan of Tianjin Municipality beat Yang Yiyun of Shanghai Municipality 11-9, 5-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-6 in the final to capture the gold medal.
