"Bao," literally meaning "board" in Swahili, is a traditional strategy game originating from East Africa, particularly in Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania. Despite challenges, it continues to grow in popularity. With numerous variations played across Africa, it is widely regarded as the most complex game in the family of two-player, seed-based board games on the continent.
