In early October, the leaves of desert poplar trees have turned in golden in Inner Mongolia, drawing many people to appreciate the splendid autumn scenery. Covering an area of some 30,000 hectares, the desert poplar forest in Ejin Banner is one of the three major forests of its kind in the world and serves as an important ecological barrier for local communities. To better protect the forest and its biodiversity, a national nature reserve and a forest park have been successively established.
