At the Nordic Open in Stockholm, top seed Andrey Rublev got past Alexandre Muller in straight sets on Thursday.

Muller is enjoying the best season of his career after reaching a first tour final and breaking into the top 100, but the 27-year-old from France still fell to the Russian who won the first set 6-4.

Rublev is currently eighth in the Race To Turin and aiming to qualify for the ATP Finals for the fifth consecutive year. The 26-year-old kept it going to dominate the second set 6-1, and set up a quarterfinal clash with three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka from Switzerland.

At the European Open in Antwerp, Stefanos Tsitsipas came out on top in three sets with Thiago Seyboth Wild to reach the quarterfinals.

The 26-year-old Greek won his third Monte-Carlo title in April. Across the net, his Brazilian opponent's career highlight was advancing as a qualifier to the 2023 French open main draw and upsetting Russian Daniil Medvedev in the opening round as he made it to the third round.

Tsitsipas claimed the first set in a tie-break 7-5. Wild took the second set 6-4 as he looked for a second-career title. In the third set, Tsitsipas held serve for a 6-5 lead before he closed out the contest 7-5 thanks to a double fault on match point. He will next meet Czech Jiri Lehecka.
