Chinese players have reached the finals of the women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles at the Denmark Open in Odense, Denmark, after competitions on Saturday were finished.
Second-seeded Wang Zhiyi of China defeated Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia 22-20, 21-14 in the women's semifinals to face World No. 1 An Se-young of South Korea for the title. An got past fifth-seeded Gregoria Mariska Tunjung when the Indonesian retired in the second game.
Top-seeded Chinese pair Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang knocked out their fellow Chinese Chen Boyang and Liu Yi 21-17, 21-14 to advance to the men's doubles final, where they will play Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark. The second-seeded locals defeated No. 6 seeds Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto of Indonesia 22-20, 18-21, 21-11 in the semifinals.
The women's doubles No. 1 seeds Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning of China will compete with fourth-seeded Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi of Japan for the gold. Liu and Tan beat another Japanese pair Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida 21-14, 21-16 in the semifinals. Iwanaga and Nakanishi came back to eliminate Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee of South Korea 17-21, 24-22, 21-17 to make the final.
Chinese shuttlers have secured the mixed doubles title as two pairs from the country will face each other in the final of the event. Top-seeded Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping defeated Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet of China's Hong Kong 21-23, 21-19, 21-19 in the semifinals. In the other last four match, second-seeded Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin knocked out Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun of South Korea 21-17, 21-9.
The men's singles title will go to the winner between Denish second seed Anders Antonsen and Koki Watanabe of Japan.
