A signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between northwest China's Shaanxi Province and Turkmenistan to jointly create a Luban Workshop was held in the provincial capital, Xi'an City, on Friday, marking the official establishment of Shaanxi's first Luban Workshop in Central Asia.

This is an important cooperation project that not only indicates the deep cooperation in the education sector between China and Turkmenistan but also cultivates highly skilled talents for the local area, injecting new vitality and promoting economic and social development through the project.

To further promote the achievements of the China-Central Asia Summit and deeply integrate into the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, the MOU is expected to propel the education exchange and cooperation between China and Central Asian countries.

Under the MOU, Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University of Turkmenistan, Xi'an Shiyou University, Hebei Petroleum University of Technology, China Education Association for International Exchange, and China National Petroleum Corporation will jointly establish the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan.

The Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan will cultivate talents in formal and non-academic education in professional fields such as geological resource exploration, information systems, and the technology sector, according to the MOU.

It will also organize some activities, including mutual visits of teachers and students, scientific research collaboration, and information exchange to build a new platform for communication and cooperation and work together to build a closer community of shared future between China and Turkmenistan.

This MOU is also the world's first Luban Workshop with full coverage of master's, undergraduate and vocational education.

Shaanxi has entered the substantive construction stage of the first Luban Workshop in Central Asia.

The Luban Workshop, guided by the Ministry of Education of China in promoting and implementing the international vocational education brand, is committed to cultivating skilled talents familiar with Chinese techniques and understanding Chinese products.
