Regions in eastern and central China saw temperature drops of 6-10 degrees Celsius on Sunday and a new round of rain and snow is on its way to hit the northern part of the country on Monday and Tuesday, according to Weather China, a website run by the China Meteorological Administration.
Many cities in eastern China had their coldest day since this fall on Sunday, with the daily highest temperatures plummeted to around 10 degrees Celsius and below.
On Monday and Tuesday, cities in northwest China could witness temperatures below zero, according to Weather China.
Liaoning Province in the northeast, which was hit by rain and a temperature drop of up to 20 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday, is expediting its autumn crop harvest to prevent losses to farmers. It also brought forward the supply of heating services by two days.
Some cities in northwest China's Gansu Province also started their heat supply 10 days ahead of previous years.
