The 2024 World Science and Technology Development Forum (WSTDF), hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), is set to take place in Beijing from October 22 to 24.

With the theme "Science and Technology for the Future," the forum aims to provide an international dialogue platform for the deep integration of science and humanities and will see global leaders in science, business, and education speaking on global challenges like climate change and energy crises.

Key events include six thematic sessions on topics such as AI governance, interdisciplinary development, and open science infrastructure. Three roundtable discussions will focus on women in science, tech policy, and sustainable development.

This year's forum will have over 120 international guests from 28 countries and regions, making it the most globally diverse participation in the forum's history. The participants include Nobel and Turing Prize winners, leaders of international and national science organizations, and prominent educators and entrepreneurs, ensuring a rich and varied exchange of ideas.

The forum is not only a grand gathering of technological innovation but also a significant milestone in global scientific cooperation. As innovation becomes increasingly dependent on international collaboration and openness, the forum will build consensus through cross-disciplinary discussions and create a new collaborative framework to address global challenges and future-oriented issues.

The forum aims to foster global scientific cooperation, promote innovative solutions, and contribute to sustainable development and the well-being of future generations.

Launched by the CAST in 2019, the WSTDF has been held annually for five years.
