The BRICS mechanism is expected to promote a better form of multilateralism, build a new international order that better represents the developing world while challenging the Western monopoly, and has enabled member countries to enhance their roles in global governance and increase their "bargaining power" on the world stage amid a "reformulation" of the global order, according to the director of a Russian think tank and a former vice president of the World Bank.
