The 16th BRICS Summit wraped up in Kazan on Thursday. This year's event was particularly significant as the group welcomed its newest members: Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. With the expansion, BRICS aspires to continue building momentum through cooperation. In an interview with CGTN's Wang Guan, Russian commentator Konstantin Shchepin, also a Chinese Government Friendship Award recipient, reflected on the bloc's evolution and noted a significant shift in Western media narratives. Once seen by the West as a group doomed to fail, BRICS has been growing steadily as an alternative to the West-dominated world.
