China's AG600 large amphibious aircraft passed an airworthiness validation flight test of its minimum unstick speed on Friday, according to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), the country's leading aircraft manufacturer and developer of the AG600.
The flight test took place in Pucheng County, located in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
The minimum unstick speed test is one of the most challenging and high-risk assessments for transport aircraft, playing a crucial role in determining safe takeoff and landing speeds.
The successful completion of this test lays a solid foundation for the AG600's subsequent safety flight tests and airworthiness certification, as noted by its developer.
The AG600 amphibious aircraft family is China's first independently developed, large-sized, special-purpose civil aircraft family, designed to meet the needs of forest firefighting, maritime rescue, and other emergency services across the country, according to AVIC.
