Israel has completed what it called "precise and targeted strikes" against military targets in a number of areas in Iran, said the Israel Defense Forces early Saturday morning, about three and a half hours after it announced the start of the operation.
Iran said its air defense system successfully countered Israel's attacks in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam but that "limited damage" was caused to some locations.
Iran has resumed its flights from 9 a.m. local time, according to the spokesperson for Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, while Iraq also announced the reopening of its airspace following a brief suspension over regional tensions.
