Chinese swimmers add four golds, one bronze at World Cup in Incheon

Chinese swimmers Pan Zhanle, Qin Haiyang, Tang Qianting and Yu Yiting secured four gold and one bronze medals at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Incheon, South Korea, on Saturday.

Pan finished the men's 800-meter freestyle final in 7:35.30, winning the title and breaking the World Cup record of the event. It was his second gold at the tournament after dominating the men's 400-meter freestyle final on Thursday.

The men's 800-meter freestyle silver medal wen to Kim Jun-woo of South Korea after he finished the competition 3.85 seconds behind Pan. Kazushi Imafuku came in third with 7:40.77.

Qin earned his second trip on the top of the podium with the 2:02.57 victory in the men's 200-meter breaststroke final. He beat Joshua Yong of Australia who finished the battle in 2:02.73 and Caspar Corbeau of the Netherlands who did it in 2:03.44.

Tang pocketed her second gold at the World Cup as well after touching the wall first in the women's 50-meter breaststroke final in 29.30 seconds, ahead of Benedetta Pilato of Italy in second and Alina Zmushka of Belarus in third.

Yu won her first title in Incheon in the women's 200-meter medley final by finishing the race in 2:04.73. Mary-Sophie Harvey of Canada finished in the second place in 2:05.23. Tara Kinder of Australia came in third in 2:06.56.

Yu also brought home two silvers of the women's 100-meter and 400-meter medley events and the women's 100-meter butterfly bronze.

The next stop of the World Cup will happen in Singapore from October 31 to November 2.
