Wednesday, October 30 will mark the 100-day countdown to the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. The organizing committee shared the latest progress on preparations for the program at a press conference on Tuesday.

The 2025 Asian Winter Games will take place between February 7 and 14, 2025. More than 1,500 athletes from 34 countries and regions have registered to compete in a total of 64 events in 11 disciplines across six sports.

As the hosts, China will send over 170 athletes to participate in the competitions of all 64 events, according to Zhou Jinqiang, vice president of the organizing committee. All 13 venues for the events have been confirmed. The five in Harbin will host ice competitions and the eight in Yabuli will be ready for snow events.

Han Shengjian, vice governor of Heilongjiang Province, told reporters that all venues have been transformed from existing ones via application of environment-friendly and low-carbon technologies.

Athletes from Japan and South Korea will compete in all 64 events as well. Cambodia and Saudi Arabia have registered for participation in the Asian Winter Games for the first time in history.
