I see you in my eyes, China, as the magnificent Great Wall winding through the ages and your vibrant national flag flying high like the eyelids, nurturing the lush greenery like bamboo that graces your vast lands, forming the eyelashes.

I see you in my eyes, with your rich and profound cultural heritage accumulated and passed down over thousands of years, reflected deeply in my pupils. The yin-yang theory and the twelve zodiac animals mesmerize me so much.

With the yellow skin and black eyes we share, we see each other, and through my gaze, I discover the unique qualities that define you.

"There are so many things in China that I'm interested in. Some like the Great Wall of China, the 12 Chinese signs of the zodiac, yin-yang and bamboo. All of these things are what I like to see through my eyes," wrote 8-year-old Cherish Bleztien from Indonesia, while explaining her piece, "The Unique Things of China Through My Eyes."

Judges' opinions:

This artwork features an eye as its central image, with the Great Wall depicted as the eyelid, the national flag as the double eyelid, and green trees representing the eyelashes. Within the pupil, the twelve zodiac animals are arranged around a yin-yang symbol, beautifully showcasing culturally significant elements that are distinctly Chinese, all with a clever and creative concept. The yellow skin tone and black eyes further emphasize these characteristics. The color palette is both vibrant and harmonious, while the overall design is striking, simple, and well-focused, leaving a memorable impression.

Congratulations to Cherish for winning the First Prize in the "China Through My Eyes" Global Children's Art Project!
