"The Wrinkle in Time," by 11-year-old Jasper Lu from China, wins the Third Prize in the "China Through My Eyes" Global Children's Art Project. /Provided to CGTN
Born and raised in New York, Jasper Lu moved back to Shanghai with his parents two years ago. Now 11 years old, he describes how he has been immersed in the modern side of China, with its "tall skyscrapers, beautiful skylines, and advanced technology."
This past summer, Jasper had the chance to explore the country's more "ancient" aspects by visiting the famous Hexi Corridor and traveling along the legendary Silk Road with his friends.
"I was amazed by so many invaluable art pieces in the world-famous grottoes and the crescent dunes in the desert. It's incredible to see how modern and ancient times can coexist in such harmony," Jasper wrote, noting that this experience inspired his work, "The Wrinkle in Time."
"I'm very proud of my Chinese heritage," the young artist added.
Congratulations to Jasper Lu for winning the Third Prize in the "China Through My Eyes" Global Children's Art Project!
