Teams at China's Dongfeng landing site are on high alert as preparations ramp up for the scheduled return of the Shenzhou-18 space crew on November 4, according to China Media Group.
Early on Friday morning, ground teams completed a final comprehensive drill that had began the previous evening. The exercise involved all search and rescue personnel, both in the air and on the ground, in readiness for a coordinated response to the crew's return.
At around 2 a.m., the ground search and rescue team completed a detailed survey of the terrain surrounding the landing site, a task that is vital to ensuring the safety and reliability of nighttime operations.
