Hundreds of hectares of tangerines grown among rocky terrain at the foot of Mount Fanjing are now ripe for harvest in Langxi Town, Yinjiang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, southwest China's Guizhou Province. Residents are hard at work, clipping the golden tangerines from branches and gathering them into buckets before transporting them down the mountain to be sold to fruit vendors across various regions.

In the 1990s, rocky desertification in the area posed a major challenge to economic and social development. Over recent years, the local government has implemented initiatives like reforestation and soil improvement, transforming over 200 hectares of rocky land into productive orchards of premium fruits, including tangerines, pomelos, and mandarins. This approach has not only revitalized the landscape but also established a sustainable income source for local farmers.
