'Whole-process people's democracy': 5 years in practice

China's political system is described as a "whole-process people's democracy." The concept was initially put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping five years ago during his visit to a civic center in Shanghai on November 2, 2019. It has been detailed, theorized, upheld and practiced in China since then.
