This year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Peru. China and New Zealand, both APEC members, have achieved substantial progress in their bilateral relationship and forged multiple "firsts" through cooperation.

Starting this year, New Zealand dairy products can enter the Chinese market duty-free. China is New Zealand's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding $25 billion in 2022. In the past three years, New Zealand has exported an average of 1.4 million tonnes of dairy products to China each year, worth about $4.83 billion, half of which was milk powder, according to media reports. Duty-free access for dairy products is another example of China moving toward greater openness and welcoming more high-quality goods into the Chinese market.

CGTN stringer talked to several New Zealanders about their expectations for this year's APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and their thoughts on China-New Zealand cooperation.
