China finish Swimming World Cup in Singapore with total of 12 medals

Chinese competitors finished with two gold medals and one bronze at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Singapore on Saturday, part of an overall haul of 12 medals at the final stop of this season's short-course series.

In the women's 50m breaststroke, 2024 Paris Summer Olympics silver medalist Tang Qianting touched the wall first in 28.87 seconds, claiming her third gold in this event across all three stops of this year's World Cup, to go along with three golds in the women's 100m breaststroke.

"The double triple crowns are recognition of my results. I will gather myself and communicate with my coach in training. I hope to perform better in Budapest next month," said Tang.

China's other gold was earned by Yu Yiting in the women's 200m individual medley. Yu took the lead in the first 25 meters, and went on to top the podium in 2 minutes, 3.99 seconds.

Pan Zhanle claimed a bronze medal for China in the men's 200m freestyle in 1 minute, 41.59 seconds, while the gold went to Great Britain's Duncan Scott. China's Qin Haiyang finished first in the men's 200m breaststroke, but was disqualified.

China wrapped up the competition with 6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.
