Mexican youth Moraima Ordoñez is studying for a master's degree in Chinese law at Peking University. She has been interested in Chinese society and culture since she was a teenager. During her college years, Moraima conducted research on laws related to the protection of women's rights in Mexico and China, and due to the relative lack of information in Spanish, she decided to come to China to find out more.

Moraima has participated in a number of China-Mexico friendship projects, and has gained a new understanding of Chinese modernization, as well as a sense of the cultural similarities between the two countries. She hopes the upcoming APEC meeting in Peru will focus on women's rights and interests.
