Dressed in traditional costumes, people of the Qiang ethnic group gathered with guests and friends to sing and dance to celebrate their greatest festival – the Qiang New Year in a village in Jiangkou County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province. The Qiang New Year is celebrated every year in the tenth month of the traditional Chinese calendar as a symbol of auspiciousness and happiness. A series of ceremonies are also held to honor ancestors and pray for prosperity and peace.
