At the World Snooker International Championship in Nanjing, home favorite Ding Junhui made light work of England's 12-time world champion Reanne Evans with a 6-0 victory to advance to the last 64.
Evans won the world champion ten-straight times from 2005 to 2014 and shows why with this long red. But Ding responded with a brilliant combination band he went on to take the first frame with a break of 59. The World number nine overcame a few challenges to claim the next two frames for a 3-0 lead.
Evans, who is ranked third in the world in women's rankings, missed a routine red to leave and opportunity for the Chinese to come back to the table. The 37-year-old went on a run of 69 to lead 4-0. Ding kept his good form going in the fifth and made it 5-0 with a break of 71.
The 14-time ranking title winner dominated the sixth as well with the only century break of the match. A run of 124 gave him a 6-0 victory and he will face England's Martin O'Donnell next.
Earlier on Sunday, Ronnie O'Sullivan got past women's world number one Mink Nutcharut. O'Sullivan started slow and Nutcharut is able to take over to claim the first frame with a break of 84. Seven-time world champion O'Sullivan bounced back to win the second thanks to a score of 124.
The 48-year-old maintained the momentum to win the next three frames for a 4-1 lead. Nutcharut didn't give up. She pulled two back to trail 4-3. But the Englishman won the eighth before wrapping up the victory with a break of 132. He will meet China's He Guoqiang next.
