On November 1, the Joint Council of the International Cooperation Center and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Representative Office in China hosted a joint conference in Beijing on the "World Economic Outlook 2024." Steven Alan Barnett, IMF senior resident representative in China, told CGTN in an exclusive interview that China is projected to be the largest contributor to global growth this year, accounting for around 28 percent of it. The IMF predicts global growth will remain steady at 3.2 percent in 2024 and continue at the same level in 2025, emphasizing that "we can do better" through enhanced international cooperation.
