EU's EV investigation into China: from economics to politics

Despite sharp divisions among member states and widespread opposition, the European Commission announced its final ruling on the anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese EVs. Speaking at the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, Professor Jiang Xiaojuan of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences highlighted that the dispute is no longer about subsidies or dumping. Instead, Europe is seeking political pretexts to counter China's EV market presence. This clash has moved beyond economics, exposing the EU's double standards and shortsightedness in dealing with global competition.
