The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), themed "New Era, Shared Future," opened on Tuesday in Shanghai.
Running until November 10, this edition of the CIIE has attracted 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions. It has also set a record with 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders attending the event.
More than 400 new products, new technologies and new services are set to be unveiled during the expo.

The Intelligent Industry and Information Technology area focuses on high-end and intelligent equipment and addresses multiple key topics. For the first time, a section for new materials has been set up in the area, serving as a premier platform for showcasing new products, trends and innovations in the new materials industry and aiming to provide support for international cooperation and development of the industry.
Revolving around the theme "Unlimited Mobility Possibilities in the Future," the Automobiles Exhibition Area showcases high-end technology and debuts new automotive products, focuses on new automotive technologies, trends and products, and explores the possibilities and real-life significance of various technologies.
The Innovation Incubation area welcomes innovative enterprises, incubation platforms of top global enterprises and innovation incubation parks to participate in, offering opportunities to unleash the passion for innovation.

A survey conducted by CGTN among 33,858 global respondents shows that 67 percent of participants believe China is an open and competitive free market. The percentage of respondents holding the same view in Africa, the Middle East, South America, and Southeast Asia are 86.6 percent, 88.2 percent, 77.9 percent, and 78.6 percent, respectively.
Matts Johansen, CEO of the Norwegian company Aker BioMarine, shared views with CGTN that the Chinese market is his company's fastest-growing market, prompting his attendance at the CIIE to forge new connections and gear up for developments in China.
Rio Tinto's CEO, Jakob Stausholm, believes these debuts reflect the positive business sentiment toward China's market potential. He also praised China's economic progress and its impressive energy transition.
Since its unveiling in 2018, the expo has been working as an antithesis of protectionism and unilateralism, becoming a symbol of trade liberalization and economic globalization. Aligned with China's 2060 carbon neutrality goals, this year's CIIE emphasizes sustainable growth and highlights advancements in artificial intelligence, green energy, and supply chain resilience, aiming to foster sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
