Passing on Georgia's Weaving Craft

Borchalo carpets are a type of traditional Georgian carpet woven by hand. Mehriban Safarova is a weaver living in the region that was historically called Borchalo, in Georgia. She has devoted herself to the craft of weaving these beautiful carpets. Mehriban learned the craft from her mother at the age of six and has been weaving for over 50 years. Now she hopes to pass it on to the next generation.
