Yongji City in north China's Shanxi Province is witnessing the peak season for fruit exports. A shipment of 54 metric tons of persimmons and apples has departed the city for Thailand, marking the 30th batch of fruit exported to Southeast Asia this year. Yongji hopes to export about 800 metric tons of fruit worth over 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) to Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, the Maldives and Malaysia this year.
