To gain more insight into the inaugural World Conference of Classics, one of our reporters spoke with Tim Whitmarsh, a fellow at the British Academy and a Regius Professor of Greek at the University of Cambridge in England. Prof. Whitmarsh was also one of the keynote speakers at the opening ceremony of the conference. He shared his thoughts on the value of different civilizations learning from each other, and the importance of involving more young people in the study of classics.
