The 2024 ASEAN Media Partners Cooperation Week, co-organized by China Media Group (CMG) and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, opened in Guangxi's Guilin City on Friday.

More than 200 government officials, media professionals, experts and scholars from China and ASEAN countries held in-depth dialogues and exchanges on the theme of "New Quality, Coexistence, Civilization."
Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, minister of culture of Thailand, delivered a video speech. Fan Yun, deputy editor-in-chief of CMG, Chen Yijun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and director of the Publicity Department of Guangxi, Aung Hla Tun, deputy minister of information of Myanmar, and Li Chu, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and mayor of Guilin, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

In his speech, Fan Yun noted that during this China-ASEAN Year of Cultural Exchange, CMG is working closely with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region through the ASEAN Media Partners Cooperation Week to strengthen collaboration and pursue innovative development. CMG pledged to utilize its broadcasting capabilities in 80 languages to share China-ASEAN friendship stories and its "5G+4K/8K+AI" technological innovations to build more platforms for media dialogue.
A series of new cooperative achievements between CMG and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were unveiled at the event. Focusing on Guilin, a key tourism city in Guangxi, and its development as a world-class tourist destination, CMG and Guangxi will launch a brand communication project to jointly tell stories about Guilin's integration of culture and tourism, helping the world better understand Guilin, discover Guangxi and fall in love with China.
The event also marked the start of filming for CMG's documentary "Pinglu Canal," which will showcase the construction and significance of this century-defining project. Another documentary, "Beautiful Guangxi," is set to air soon, featuring compelling stories about Guangxi residents' pursuit of a better life.
The "Cloud Listening ASEAN Voices" experience space at the China-ASEAN Media Port was launched on the same day, utilizing CMG's innovative audio technology to create a new platform for China-ASEAN cultural exchange.
