Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Beijing on Saturday.

Li stated that, with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Indonesia relations have steadily improved and entered a new stage of jointly building a community with a shared future.

China is committed to being a good neighbor and partner to Indonesia, jointly implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, carrying forward traditional friendship, deepening political mutual trust, and expanding practical cooperation. This will provide solid support for both countries as they pursue modernization and contribute to the development, prosperity and stability of the region and the world, he said.

Li called on both sides to strengthen the synergy of their development strategies, further expand bilateral trade and investment, and explore the potential for cooperation in areas such as green minerals, photovoltaic wind power, the digital economy, marine scientific research and environmental protection. These efforts will add more momentum to both countries' respective development.

China is also willing to enhance communication and coordination with Indonesia on multilateral platforms, such as the UN, practice true multilateralism, safeguard international equity and justice, and protect the common interests of developing countries, he noted.

Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia firmly adheres to the one-China principle, views issues related to Xinjiang as China's internal affairs, and supports China's efforts to safeguard national sovereignty.

Indonesia is keen to use the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year as an opportunity to intensify exchanges with China at all levels, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, strengthen key projects like the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, and deepen exchanges in humanities fields such as education and tourism, he added.

Prabowo also expressed Indonesia's deep appreciation for China's important role in safeguarding international equity and justice, promoting the development of the Global South, and protecting the interests of developing countries. He looks forward to continuing to strengthen communication and cooperation with China on international and regional affairs.
