Du Fu was one of China's greatest poets. He lived about 1,300 years ago during a turbulent period in Chinese history. To escape the turmoil, he made Chengdu his home for several years. Here he built a small thatched cottage where he wrote hundreds of poems. Today, the site has been restored so that you can walk in Du Fu's footsteps.
