Dixi is a traditional variety of folk opera hailing from Anshun, Guizhou Province. Boasting a history of more than 600 years, it's noted for its use of powerful drums and vivid masks. Much loved for its ability to bring the ancient battlefields to life, it's known to aficionados as the "living fossil of Chinese opera."
