China and Peru had contact at the end of the 16th century, through trade and people-to-people exchanges, along the famous ocean route, "Ruta Marítima de la Seda", through the galleon trade or "Nao de China." Once a quiet coastal city about 80 kilometers from Peru's capital Lima, Chancay, with a brand new mega port, connects with Shanghai across the vast Pacific Ocean.
