China and the United States have agreed to promote sound, deep, and pragmatic development of law enforcement cooperation on drug control on the basis of mutual respect, managing differences, and mutually beneficial cooperation, said China's National Narcotics Control Commission (NNCC) on Thursday.
The agreement came as the tenth China-U.S. Narcotics Control Strategic Intelligence Sharing Conference was held in Shanghai on Tuesday and Wednesday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed drug-related situations, chemical control, anti-money laundering related to drugs, cooperation on cases, and personnel exchanges.
Chinese and U.S. officials briefed each other on the latest development, exchanged views and suggestions, and set out the direction of cooperation, according to the NNCC.
Initiated in 2002, the China-U.S. Narcotics Control Strategic Intelligence Sharing Conference is alternately hosted by the drug control departments of the two countries and serves as an important institutional meeting in the field.
