The 2024 Panda Cup International Youth Football Tournament got underway in southwest China's Chengdu this week. China's Under-19 squad took on their Mongolian counterparts and routed 6-0 in their opener on Wednesday.
Tang Tianyi opened the scoring just five minutes into the first half before China went 4-0 up with goals from Zhu Pengyu, Bai Yutao, and Zhu.
In the 55th minute, Tang found Du Yuezheng who netted a fifth goal for China, and just four minutes before stoppage time Wu Yongqiang headed in after the ball rebounded from a freekick that was initaly saved. China wrapped up a 6-0 win before they take on Australia on Saturday.
This year's tournament features four teams, including Australia and Kyrgyzstan, as they continue to build towards the AFC Under-20 Asian Cup next year.
