The Chinese Ocean Salinity Satellite was successfully launched into space from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Thursday morning. The scientific research satellite is also known as Ocean-4 01. According to China National Space Administration, the satellite will enhance China's high-precision global ocean salinity probe capabilities, improve the country's ability to acquire dynamic marine environment data, better its ocean forecasting products, and meet operational needs in areas such as marine environmental forecasting, marine ecological forecasting, water cycle monitoring, global climate change research and more.
