'The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping' airs in Peru

"The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping," a multilingual TV program produced by China Media Group (CMG) that features quotes from ancient Chinese classics used by Chinese President Xi Jinping in his speeches and articles, began airing on Peruvian media outlets on Friday.

The launch ceremony for the third season of the Spanish-language version of "The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping" took place on the day after President Xi arrived in Lima, capital of Peru, for a state visit and to attend the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte congratulated the program's broadcast in Peru via a video message. Nearly 200 guests from various sectors, including politics, economics, culture, media, and academia attended the event.

The third season focuses on themes such as cultural heritage, ecological civilization, poverty alleviation, and exchanges and mutual learning. It selects the original speeches and quotes from ancient Chinese classics used by Xi to elaborate on ancient Chinese stories and wisdom, highlighting President Xi's exceptional political wisdom and rich historical and cultural knowledge.

President Boluarte welcomed President Xi's visit to Peru. She noted that the launch of the program has further solidified the enduring friendship between China and Peru, emphasizing that the program serves as a bridge for the Peruvian people, especially the younger generation, to better understand China's rich history and philosophy. It also reflects President Xi's dedication to preserving and promoting China's 5,000-year civilization while integrating it into the global vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Talking about the opening ceremony of the Chancay Port on Thursday, Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of CMG, said that the vision of "From Chancay to Shanghai" has become a reality, symbolizing the bright future of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Peru. It stands as both a testament to the deepening China-Peru relationship and a significant chapter in the third season of "The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping."

"We believe it will further enhance mutual understanding and resonance between the peoples of the two countries, adding new brilliance to the rich legacies of Chinese and Inca civilizations in the annals of history," Shen noted.
