The Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs continued in Guangzhou. After taking a 2-0 lead over Belgium in the first day matches, China finally edged over the opponent 3-2 to advance to the qualification of the Finals next year on Sunday.
The first match on the second match day was women's singles between Wang Xiyu and Sofia Costoulas, which Wang lost 7-5, 7-5.
With China leading 2-1 overall, the fourth match took place between Wei Sijia and Hanne Vandewinkel. Wei lost the first frame 6-3, and struggled to find her form to lose the second 6-3, as Belgium leveled at 2 apiece.
The fifth match was the women's doubles. Guo Hanyu and Jiang Xinyu, who made their debut at the tournament, beat Costoulas and Vandewinkel 7-6, 6-3.
With a 3-2 victory on aggregate, China moved past Belgium in the past weekend to advance to the qualification of the finals.
