Chinese President Xi Jinping met with U.S. President Joe Biden in Lima, Peru on November 16. The two sides agreed the meeting was candid, profound and constructive, and they expressed willingness to stay in contact. The two presidents spoke positively about the important role of China-U.S. strategic communication, regular contact between the diplomatic and security teams, and dialogue mechanisms on military-to-military relations, economic and trade ties, and financial issues.

CGTN stringer interviewed Breno Giovanni Adaid Castro, a professor of business management at the Higher Education Institute of Brasilia, about his views on the Chinese and U.S. leaders' meeting. Castro said China and U.S. are both world powers and if the two sides can further improve and promote free trade, it will be good for all other countries seeking trade with them. As two major economic powers, China and the U.S. should respect each other and seek peaceful consultation to create new opportunities for cooperation and development in the face of differences.
