Editor's Note:2024 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, a milestone that underscores a significant shift in global geopolitics. As high-level interactions have become more frequent in recent years, how will the two countries blaze a trail in fruitful partnership going forward? In this edition of Leaders' Talk, CMG’s Wang Guan sits down with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Brazil from Nov. 17 to 21 and his attendance to the 19th G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. With the economy "in a sweet spot," President Lula remarks that Brazil is increasingly looking to China to further its ecological and energy transition drive, while both countries are eager to work together on global issues, especially governance and on development. "We want to revisit the Bretton Woods system," he tells Wang Guan.
