At the 19th G20 Summit, which just concluded in Rio de Janeiro, world leaders identified sustainable development and climate action as priority focuses. In an interview with CGTN, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay highlighted the urgent need to address the severe challenges posed by climate change and the disruptive impact of misinformation on public understanding and global climate efforts. In response to this issue, UNESCO, in collaboration with other UN agencies and the Brazilian government, launched the Global Initiative for Information Integrity on Climate Change. The initiative aims to strengthen scientific research and the accurate dissemination of climate-related information, ensuring transparency and reliability to support global climate action.
