The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is driving global connectivity and economic growth, which will be highlighted during the second China International Supply Chain Expo, scheduled to take place from November 26 to 30 in Beijing. A World Bank report predicts that by 2030, transportation projects along the BRI could boost trade among participating economies by up to 9.7 percent, increase foreign direct investment by nearly 5 percent, and raise GDP by as much as 3.4 percent.

CGTN takes a detailed look at the China-Europe freight rail service, the China-Laos Railway, and two other key projects under construction supported by China, the Hungary-Serbia Railway and the China-Thailand Railway. The Hungary-Serbia Railway, a 350-kilometer line built by Chinese companies, is a landmark project showcasing China's collaboration with central and eastern European countries. The China-Thailand Railway will be Thailand's first standard-gauge high-speed rail and a vital part of the trans-Asian network. It will connect Bangkok with northeastern Thailand and link with the China-Laos Railway, enabling travel from Bangkok to Kunming, China.
