China launched two high-resolution radar satellites from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Monday.

A Long March-2C rocket, carrying the two satellites Siwei Gaojing-2 03 and 04, blasted off at 7:39 a.m. and successfully sent them into the preset orbit.

Developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the satellites are equipped with high-precision phased array radar loads, which can provide all-day, all-weather, high-resolution radar images, serving for the fields of natural resources, urban security, emergency management and maritime affairs.

The Long March-2C rocket is a liquid-propellant rocket of normal temperature developed by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology. It is mainly used to launch low-orbit and sun-synchronous orbit satellites, and can perform tasks at all the three launch sites in China's Xichang, Jiuquan and Taiyuan.

It was the 547th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
