The Civil Aviation Museum in Beijing, a national first-class museum of China, serves as an exhibition hall, science education base and leisure activity center for the public to explore China's civil aviation history.

The museum, which is open to the public free of charge, houses both indoor and outdoor permanent exhibitions. The indoor exhibition focuses on the history and achievements of China's civil aviation sector since the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in 1949, while the outdoor exhibition area displays various models of civil aircraft.

Aircraft from different periods of China's civil aviation history, such as Li-2, BAe-146, Ilyushin IL-14, Trident, Y-7 and Airbus A310-200, are displayed in the museum's aircraft collection. Among them, the Ilyushin IL-14 (B-4208), which was used as a special aircraft for the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong, is one of the most famous. Visitors are allowed to board the aircraft, which is 21.31 meters long, 31.7 meters wide and 7.8 meters high.
