The second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) opened in Beijing on Tuesday. Under the theme "Connecting the World for a Shared Future", representatives from business communities around the world will engage in extensive discussions on international cooperation in industrial and supply chains. The discussions will focus on topics such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy, smart vehicles, digital technology, green agriculture, and supply chain services, leading to a series of consensuses.

This year, the CISCE welcomed the participation of 620 enterprises and institutions, an increase of 20 percent compared to last year. The proportion of overseas exhibitors has risen from 26 percent last year to 32 percent, fully demonstrating expectations of the international community for cooperation in industrial and supply chains, as well as the trust of enterprises from various countries in the expo and China's development, said Zhang Shaogang, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

The Beijing Initiative for International Cooperation on Industrial and Supply Chains was released at the CISCE on Tuesday. Five points were outlined, namely: to jointly promote open cooperation in global industrial and supply chains; to advance digital connectivity; to boost green and low-carbon development; to improve industrial and supply chain services; and to harness the unique role of the business community.

This year's CISCE aims to facilitate the integration of upstream, midstream, and downstream players within the supply chains, the collaboration between large and small and medium-sized enterprises, the synergy among industry, research, and application, and the interaction between Chinese and foreign enterprises, promoting mutual engagement and win-win cooperation between China and the world.

The CISCE reflects China's aspiration that China would like to invite business communities from more countries to join the initiative and collaborate in building a secure, stable, efficient, open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial global industrial and supply chain system.
