Amid the first snow of this winter in Qiqihar on Monday, tourists from across China arrived at the Zhalong National Nature Reserve to admire red-crowned cranes. Home to a population of some 900 red-crowned cranes, the nature reserve is the world's largest breeding habitat for the endangered species. Red-crowned cranes have been among the most beloved birds in China since ancient times.
