The discussions covered a range of important topics, including the meaning of "Chinese modernization," China-Latin America economic and trade cooperation, the contribution of "Chinese modernization" to global economic growth, and China's path of poverty reduction. Experts provided a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of "Chinese modernization," promoting valuable exchanges and fostering mutual learning.
At the opening ceremony of the lecture in the State University of Rio de Janeiro and the State University of Sao Paulo, the Institute of Latin American Studies of the CASS signed cooperation agreements and intent cooperation framework agreements with the two well-known Brazilian universities to deepen exchanges and cooperation on issues such as research and scholar visits.
In the speech, Zhang stressed that to understand China, the key is to understand Chinese modernization. Chinese modernization has unique and distinct Chinese characteristics. After nearly a century of hard work and under the guidance of the Communist Party of China, socialist China has successfully blazed a new path of Chinese modernization and scored brilliant achievements, writing the "two miracles" of rapid economic development and long-term social stability and profoundly changing the face of China.

Du shared in detail China's historic achievements and valuable experience in the field of eradicating absolute poverty. He explained in detail the key path and successful experience of China's poverty alleviation efforts in the process of achieving the phased goal of modernization, pointing out that China's poverty alleviation efforts have not only made indelible and outstanding contributions to the cause of global poverty reduction but also provided valuable examples for other countries.
Li said that Chinese modernization not only has the common characteristics of modernization of other countries, but also is deeply rooted in its own national conditions, showing distinct Chinese characteristics. China is accelerating the building of a modern industrial system by upgrading its supply structure, accelerating the construction of a modern market system by promoting the upgrading of the demand structure, and striving to build a modern governance system by promoting the improvement of the efficiency structure. China has also combined short-term policies with long-term strategies to promote the process of Chinese modernization with high-quality development, thus injecting strong impetus into world economic growth.
Chai said the various challenges facing the world should not hinder the common development of China and Latin American countries, and the two sides share a common vision for world development. Looking ahead, China-Latin America economic and trade cooperation has broad prospects and will enter the track of rapid development, and cooperation areas will continue to expand from traditional fields to frontier areas such as digital economy and artificial intelligence. The two sides should pay more attention to the rational adjustment of industrial structure, deepen the integration of cooperation in various fields, and promote cooperation in emerging industries to become a new economic growth point.

She believed that Chinese modernization has important reference value and valuable experience for Latin American countries. Starting from the university level, she hoped that Chinese and Brazilian universities and relevant institutions can sign more cooperation agreements and carry out more joint research and academic exchange activities, so as to further promote the close relationship between China and Brazil.

The development of the economy and livelihood of ethnic minority areas is very distinctive and has a reference significance for Brazil. At the same time, the prosecutorial public interest litigation system in the process of Chinese modernization is very similar to the collective rights protection system of Brazil, such as public litigation and public civil litigation, which effectively protects dispersed interests, collective interests, and homogeneous individual interests and plays a non-negligible role in social stability, unity, and development.
